14.491 : Spring Applied Brake
DC spring applied brake Type 14.491 is Double Brake System. This brake is designed to hold the rotating devices. Brake can be used as Service brake & Holding brake also, subject to appropriate selection. Although this is double brake system, it will not deliver Double Braking Torque when applied. In nutshell this brake will always deliver torque of single brake, every time when it is applied. Therefore, this brake is used in critical applications where you need redundancy but no double braking torque.
