14.458 Double Brake (DB)
The Emco-Simplatroll 14.458 Double Brake (DB) is a DC spring applied fail-safe brake designed to perform both holding and emergency stopping functions. Featuring an electromagnetically actuated double brake with two separate brakes, the brake applies torque through compression springs force in the power-off state.
With torque capacity up to 5000 Nm, this brake is particularly suited for heavy-duty applications such as press brakes, lift brakes, elevator brakes, and hoist brakes. It is also available in specialized versions—including models with micro switches, tacho mounting provisions, centring flanges, and variants for low-temperature applications (-40°C).
Thanks to its modular design and adaptability, the 14.458 Double Brake is a preferred choice for industries requiring high torque, precision, redundancy and operational safety.
