WP 14.488: Marine Duty Brake
The Emco-Simplatroll WP 14.488 Marine Duty Brake is a power-saving alternative to the WP 14.458, offering the same rugged marine-grade reliability with 40% lower power consumption. Known as the “Green Brake”, it features a unique double coil design: a high-power booster coil for rapid engagement and a low-power holding coil for sustained operation.
By reducing power consumption, the WP 14.488 runs cooler, making it particularly suited for applications with long motor duty cycles or high ambient temperatures. This design minimizes brake heating, extends service life, and enhances efficiency.
A specialized UM 201 rectifier is required to operate the booster and holding coils in the correct sequence, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
Built with IP67 protection, the WP 14.488 Marine Duty Brake delivers exceptional performance in shipyards, docks, cement, mining, and heavy industries, where both safety and energy efficiency are essential.
