The Emco Simplatroll Type 14.458 DC Spring Applied Brake is designed to perform both holding and emergency stopping functions, making it highly suitable for brake motor applications. This ‘Normally On’ brake engages automatically during power failure, ensuring maximum operational safety.
Electromagnetically actuated with a single disk and two friction surfaces, braking power is applied using robust compression springs. Capable of generating torque up to 5000 Nm, the 14.458 is built for demanding applications. Special versions of this brake can be used in harsh environments, including extremely low temperatures down to -50°C.
Its design flexibility allows for optional features such as micro switch, tacho mounting, shaft seal, space heaters, and centering flange. This adaptability makes it a versatile choice across industries such as cranes and hoists, brake motors, material handling, machine tools, textiles, paper machinery, steel, mining, construction, power, and cement plants.
